Council of Health Insurance and PHA sign a memorandum of cooperation to promote public health

The Council of Health Insurance “CHI" and the Public Health Authority “PHA" signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on Wednesday, August 10, at the CHI's headquarters in Riyadh to work together to achieve their common goals.

 

The MoC was signed by Dr. Shabab bin Saad Al-Ghamdi, Secretary General of the Council of Health Insurance and Dr. Abdullah bin Rashoud Al-Quweizani, the CEO Designate of the PHA. This cooperation aims to determine the nature of the partnership between the Council and the PHA based on the principles of transparency and equality as defined by the two parties' regulations and laws.

 

The MoC focuses on multipe axes, the most important of which are the two parties' cooperation in disease prevention and promotion, as well as determining and developing preventive measures to be included in the package of benefits. Furthermore, it covers their collaboration in developing and revising public health indices for monitoring and evaluating population health, as well as supporting joint research and studies on them. it addresses the exchange of advisory services and scientific advice to meet the needs of both parties, as well as any future joint projects and initiatives. In addition, the two parties will share available statistical data on health and disease prevention.

 

Dr. Nasser Aljehani, the Council of Health Insurance's Spokesperson and Executive Director of Enablement and Supervision, confirmed the Council's eagerness to conclude several agreements in order to continue implementing its strategy and working toward becoming the world's leading regulatory authority in prevention and improving the quality and efficiency of health services for health insurance beneficiaries.

 

“Signing of the MoC with the PHA is an extension of the Council's work with other partners to promote beneficiaries' health through an organizational environment that focuses on prevention, empowering those involved, and achieving transparency, justice, quality, and efficiency," Aljehani said.

 

He pointed out that the MoC included a number of discussions aimed at promoting health and preventing diseases, while working to provide all that can be done to serve the beneficiaries according to the highest standards of quality and efficiency, and to support study research aimed at providing cutting-edge solutions for the development of the sector.​
