The Council of Health Insurance announced that its Reconciliation and Settlement Center had received 16 requests for reconciliation and settlement of health insurance financial disputes without resorting to the courts during the first quarter of the current year 2023.

CHI indicated that 11 requests for settlement were finalized having reconciled the dispute between the disputing parties over amounts totaling more than SAR 500,000, pointing out that there are three other requests under consideration pending their settlement, in addition to two requests that were found, after due examination, to be outside the competence of the Center. It is noteworthy that the Center acts as an intermediary between insurance companies, service providers, and claims management companies, working to facilitate and encourage reconciliation between the disputing parties by finding a common ground and reaching an agreement that satisfies them through fully automated digital procedures.

For his part, the CHI’s official spokesman, Executive Director of Enablement and Supervision, Dr. Nasser Aljehani, assured that the Council plays its role as a leading global regulatory body that works to enable beneficiaries to obtain their full rights, pointing out that the Reconciliation and Settlement Center at CHI seeks to achieve sustainable development for the health insurance market by ending financial disputes between insurance companies, claims management companies and service providers without resorting to the courts, whereby helping with the continuation of the contractual relationship between the conflicting parties. Dr. Aljehani explained that the average time taken to finalize reconciliation requests in the first quarter of the current year 2023 at the Reconciliation and Settlement Center is estimated at 12 days.​
