Health insurance begins private insurance for the pilgrims

Council of Cooperative Health Insurance has launched the application of health insurance policies to those coming to the Kingdom to perform Umrah rituals and multi-purpose visit such as tourism, work and visiting relative. The Spokesman for Council, Yasser Al-Maarek said that this step came in line with the Kingdom’s vision (2030), which included upgrading the level of health services for the visitors of the Holy Mosques from the moment they arrive in the Kingdom’s land until departure after performing the rituals. He pointed out that the health insurance policy provides emergency health care services with a maximum benefit of 100 thousand Saudi Riyals for each pilgrim. Al-Maarek added that the preparation of the insurance policy for pilgrims was carried out in cooperation with Ministry of Hajj, Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority, Council of Cooperative Health Insurance and through qualified health insurance companies. He stated that the Council coordinated with the certified health care providers to emphasize providing health care services to pilgrims according to the benefits specified in the insurance policy for pilgrims and submitting claims to insurance companies according to the approved statutory measures. Al-Maarek indicated that the Council provides the service of inquiring about health insurance policyholders who are coming to the Kingdom for the purpose of Umrah or visiting through its electronic portal (www.cchi.gov.sa) and access the insurance information by using the visitor's border number. in addition to providing a package of communication channels to communicate with the Secretariat-General including the unified number: 920001177 and e-mail: Info@cchi.gov.sa or the smartphone application as well as the social media channels (Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin) on the official pages of the Council: cchi.ksa​
